“ The Scones are the REAL DEAL. The crowd just loved them and
they are welcome back any time they want to venture back to Idaho.”

Andy Byron – Americana Music Concert Series – Boise, Idaho

It is with great sadness that we announce that Scones band leader Rick Stockton passed away in May. As a musician, songwriter, band leader, producer, arranger and recording engineer whose music career spanned five and a half decades, he left behind a deep legacy of great original songs and many wonderful recordings, some of them still available through this website. He also left a legacy of community service. He was a founder of two of the popular annual events in Paonia, The Mountain Harvest Festival and The Black Eyed Pea Jubilee. Both events are now in their 22nd year and Rick remained an integral part of organizing them throughout the last two decades. As one of Paonia’s favorite sons, he is deeply missed. The new EP “Quiet Equilibrium” is the last 6 six songs The Scones recorded before his passing. Preview and order it here.
